TVS Motor Company announced sales of 308,501 units in June 2022. This is 22% more than in the corresponding month a year ago, when the company recorded sales of 251,886 units.
When it comes to selling two-wheelers only, the Apache-maker sold 293,715 units in June 2022, 23% more than 238,092 units in June 2021. This number includes domestic sales of 193,090 units in June 2022, which is 33% higher than 145,413 units sold in the same period a year ago.
In terms of motorcycle sales, a total of 146,075 units were sold in June 2022 compared to 146,874 units in June 2021, while sales of scooters last month rose from 53,956 units in June last year to 105,211 units last month.
The Hosur-based carmaker said its production was “affected” by a chip shortage and thus overall sales suffered as well. “We are working intensively with alternative sources and we are doing our best to improve deliveries as soon as possible. Some improvement has been seen this month. We are optimistic that volumes will return to normal levels as semiconductor supplies continue to improve, the company said in a recent press release.
In terms of exports and international operations, the company shipped a total of 114,449 units in June this year, an increase of 8% compared to 106,246 units sold last June. Two-wheeler exports increased by 9%, from 92,679 in June 2021 to 100,625 in June 2022.
In terms of sales of wheeled vehicles, TVS increased by 7% from 13,794 units in June last year to 14,786 units sold in the same period of this year.
TVS iQube electric scooters for sale:
TVS reported sales of 4,667 iQube electric scooters in June 2022. The company added that this is the “highest-ever” sale of iQube Electric, as sales increased by 77% from May 2022.
