Jalandhar, 30 September

Former state Congress president and BJP leader Sunil Jakhar today said that separatist voices are being encouraged in the state after the AAP government came to power in Punjab.

There is no evidence of “Op Lotus” was produced.

AAP has not provided any evidence of the so-called “Op Lotus”. He could have asked for a CBI inquiry but he is only misleading the public and misleading the Gov in the name of a confidence vote. – Ashwani Sharma, BJP state chief

Interacting with the media on the sidelines of the ‘Janata Di Vidhan Sabha’ held here, Jakhar said, “Separatist voices which used to be raised in London and New York are now being raised in Punjab.”

He further said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should come clean about his stand on the issue instead of maintaining ambiguity about it.

Jakhar said, “Gangsters are invited to join political parties. Law and order went to waste. These people seem to find the state environment convenient.”

Jakhar said, “AAP Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal stopped at a separatist’s home in 2017. People have forgotten that. But because of these incidents, doubts about the government have increased.”

Reacting to the Delhi Chief Minister’s claims that party co-president Raghav Chadha could be arrested soon, Jakhar said, “There is no substance in the claims. They themselves (AAP) are doing such things because of their internal politics. Kejriwal also claimed that Manish Sisodia was arrested. If someone is really wrong, the government will not spare him. But I just want to assure Kejriwal, if there is no wrongdoing, then don’t be afraid.”

Meanwhile, hitting out at the AAP for moving the trust motion, state BJP chief Ashwani Sharma today said it has not produced any proof of the so-called ‘Operation Lotus’.

Sharma claimed that eventually AAP leaders Arvind Kejeival and Raghav Chadha would turn out to be the “creators of Operation Lotus”.

In the parallel mock session of the Assembly, an initiative was launched to oppose the AAP’s trust vote and allegations regarding “Operation Lotus”, the BJP passed various resolutions, including on drugs, corruption, law and order, farmers and the Post- matric scholarships for SK.

While ‘Operation Lotus’ remained a key point of discussion, AAP’s trust vote was also questioned.

Sharma said, “They want to blame us for everything. They should know that they are no longer the opposition. AAP needs to give answers on the issue of stipends, the crushing industry and the plight of workers.”
