Jalandhar, 30 September

Senior BJP leader Sunil Jakhar today said that separatist voices have been encouraged in Punjab ever since the AAP government came to power.

Sunil Jakhar said this while talking to the media on the sidelines of Lokan di Vidhan Sabha held today in the presence of senior BJP leadership. Jakhar said, “These separatist voices, which used to be raised in London and New York, are now being raised from Punjab. It cannot be a coincidence that such voices are heard more and more during the mandate of the current state government.”

Jakhar said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should declare his stand on the issue instead of maintaining ambiguity about it.

“After the AAP government came to power, such incidents have become more frequent. Gangsters are invited to join political parties. Law and order went to waste. These people – they seem to think that the environment of the state is suitable for these things and they come here. All this coincides with the coming to power of the new government. The sentiment is – “Jab saiyan bhaye kotwal, to ab dar kahe ka”.

Jakhar further added, “AAP Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who stopped at a separatist’s home in 2017, also exposed the party. People have forgotten that. But due to these incidents, today these doubts are increasing whether all this is happening because of the support and weakness of the current state government. CM Mann should be clear about his position on this matter. Because the separatist forces have brought bad days to Punjab before.”

Reacting to the Delhi Chief Minister’s claims that party co-president Raghav Chadha may be arrested soon, Jakhar said, “There is no substance in these claims. They themselves (AAP) are doing such things because of their internal politics. Kejriwal was also getting Manish Sisodia was arrested.
