Miss Benton County, Manju Bangalore, was crowned Miss Oregon 2023 on Saturday, October 15 at the Sherwood Center for the Arts in Sherwood, Oregon.
The 25-year-old physicist, actor, model and founder of two non-profit organizations beat out more than 20 other competitors to win the state title in his third attempt. She replaced last year’s winner, Arielle Freitag, and will now prepare to represent Oregon at Miss USA 2023.
“As an Oregonian, it’s been a dream of mine for a long time and I’m stoked,” she said excitedly in a video clip shortly after winning her title.
“It’s literally surreal, I mean, this pageant where I’m so big on admiring all the smart, beautiful, strong girls. I’m just in shock,” she added.

The new Miss from Oregon, USA is also an aspiring astronaut who has worked at two NASA centers and the White House. He is currently attending graduate school that will train him to one day fly into space.
In addition to her academic achievements, her acting and modeling career has taken her from working with Beyoncé to posing with Sports Illustrated.
Manju founded two non-profit organizations, Operation Period and Painting With Parkinson’s, to champion the causes closest to her heart.
In addition to Miss Oregon USA, Happy Valley Miss Oregon Teen USA 2023 Isabella Ellsworth was also crowned at the same venue over the weekend. She will go on to compete in the Miss Teen USA 2023 pageant.
