While planning the Terminal 2 project at Kempegowda, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) decided to incorporate 4 key pillars – a garden terminal concept, sustainability, technology and a focus on Karnataka art and culture.

Insisting on the futuristic impact of the concept, BIAL decided to turn to Autodesk, which was tasked with completing the design and construction of the terminal.

Solutions in The Offing

Keeping consistent with its future-proof theme, BIAL decided to use BIM (Building Information Modelling) to transform the design and construction processes and solve the challenges that might come with a mega project. Here Autodesk’s BIM Collaborate Pro was used to deliver the project from end to end.

This includes design, manufacture, construction, operation and maintenance of Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 2 for the entire project life cycle.

BIAL also used Autodesk’s Suite platform to extend the technological development of the construction project. This allowed the company to create a smart infrastructure, connect people and manage data.

Kempegowda International Airport, which serves Bangalore, Karnataka, is located approximately 30 kilometers north of the city and covers an area of ​​over 4,000 acres.
