Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday asked the IAS and IPS officers to make strenuous efforts to restore the pristine glory of the state.

The CM, while welcoming the officials on the occasion of Diwali, said that they are the backbone of the state government and they should perform their duty diligently and diligently to ensure progress of Punjab and prosperity of its people.

“The need of the hour is to make Punjab a favored state in the country,” he said, while reiterating his government’s firm commitment to ensure all-round development.

He said his government has already set the wheels in motion for this.

The chief minister said, “It is the turn of the officers to ensure that the aspirations of our great freedom fighters are fulfilled by putting the state on a high growth trajectory.”

The Chief Minister also called upon all officers to be on vigil so that people celebrate the festival of lights with religious fervor and gaiety.

“Care must be taken to avoid fire incidents. If any such mishap occurs, efforts must be made to minimize the loss of life and property,” Mann said, while asking police officers to ensure that hospitals remain on alert to deal with any untoward incident on Diwali night. – TNS
