Since 1982, King’s horror novels have been adapted into films, starting in 1982 Disturbing show based on his short stories Weeds and The Crate at the most recent 2022 remake of his 1980 novel Firestarter.

10/10 ‘The Shining’ (1980) – Netflix, HBO Max, Prime Video

It is the 2017 remake of the 1990 miniseries based on the scariest character in King’s book: Pennywise. The film follows a group of misfit teenagers who are haunted by the paranormal clown in the small town of Derry, Maine.

8/10 ‘Carrie’ (1976) – Thrill, Prime Video, AMC FearFest

Carrie follows a teenage girl who faces life in high school while retaining her telekinetic powers until a prom night prank sends her into a frenzy, unleashing her powers in front of the whole school.

The 1976 film can be found on the Shudder horror streaming service, Prime Video and airing during the AMC Feast of fear on 1, 9 and 21 October 2022. Remake of 2013 starring Chloë Grace Moretz streaming on Netflix.

7/10 ‘Christine’ (1983) – Prime Video, AMC FearFest

Only Stephen King could turn a 1958 Plymouth Fury into a serial killer. The proprietary character of Cristina is Arnie’s new car, which is marred by Arnie’s nemesis and takes revenge by killing every bully.

Cristina can be watched on Prime Video and will air during AMC’s FearFest on October 9, 2022 during a programming block titled Stephen King Classics, with additional broadcasts on October 15 and 21, 2022.

Stephen King played the role of minister Cemetery for pets, the 1989 film adaptation about deceased pets rising from the dead with corrupted personalities from a haunted graveyard.

4/10 ‘Misery’ (1990) – Prime Video, AMC FearFest

Kathy Bates And James Caan starred in Misery, about a nurse saving her favorite author from a car accident. But after learning of her plans to kill her favorite character in her next novel, she takes a turn for the worse and becomes bossy and abusive as she forces him to write her book according to her wishes. .

Misery can be found on Prime Video and airing October 9, 16, and 22, 2022 as part of AMC’s FearFest.

3/10 ‘Stand by me’ (1986) – Netflix, Prime Video

While Stand by Me may not be considered a horror, it is one of Stephen King’s best films about a group of little boys who embark on an adventure to find the body of a boy who was tragically killed near their homes.

2/10 ‘Cujo’ (1983) – Prime Video, AMC FearFest

This may not be what you want to look at with your pet. Cujo follows a dog who goes from sweet to scary after being bitten by a bat and becomes dangerous, rampaging in a small town and killing anyone who gets in his way.

The 1983 horror will air during AMC’s FearFest on October 9 and 24, 2022 and can be found on Prime Video.

1/10 ‘It’ (1990) – HBO Max, Prime Video

Much earlier Finn Wolfhard And Bill Skarsgard starred in the 2017 remake, It was a 1990 miniseries that aired on ABC and was a much less gory but consistently disturbing version of King’s novel of the same name.

The two-part series starred in big names like John Ritter, Tim Reid And Green Set and can be found streaming on HBO Max and Prime Video.
